An Easthampton man is under arrest for allegedly beating a Northampton man with a baseball bat. 47 year old Patrick McCarthy of East Green Street is charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. The assault happened Friday night outside the victim's home in Florence. The man, who police have declined to identify, was taken to Cooley Dickinson with injuries to his head and arms.
