A retired teacher for the Clarke School in Northampton is being mourned after her death in a car accident Friday. Authorities have identified the victim of the two car crash near the Oxbow Cove was 60 year old Janet Bloom of Amherst. Police say Bloom was traveling North on Route 5 when her car veered into the other lane and collided head on with another car. The driver of the second vehicle, 29 year old Meagan Kwiecinski of Easthampton was treated and released. Bloom died at the hospital. She was 2004 teacher of the year at the Clarke School.
