Vibrant Sidewalk Resolution Tabled

Northampton city officials are putting the brakes on a resolution in support of “vibrant sidewalks”. ┬áThe Northampton City Council Thursday night delayed final approval of the resolution after a number of councilors reported receiving public objections to some of the wording of the measure. ┬áResolution author and Ward One Councilor Maureen Carney says she understands and appreciates the public’s reaction to the issue. The resolution was referred back to the council’s subcommittee on economic development and land use, which will schedule a Fall public hearing on the matter before any other council vote is taken.
