5 Year Old Girl Missing, Presumed Drowned in CT River

South Hadley police and fire and state and environmental police spent much of Sunday in search of a child who went missing shortly after nine Saturday night near Cove Island Road near the Connecticut River. The 5 year old girl fell off a dock Saturday night.  Several people jumped into the river to try to save her, but couldn’t find the girl.  Her family was visiting from California.  State Police dive teams will continue to search for her body.  The river is running about 6 feet higher than normal.
