Amherst Considers Marijuana Dispensary Bylaw

Planning officials in Amherst are drafting a medical marijuana dispensary zoning bylaw.  The goal is to control where dispensaries can be located in town.  The bylaw is on the zoning subcommittee’s list for its Wednesday meeting.  Amherst Planning Director Jonathan Tucker says his office has received general inquiries but no proposals.  The state is now accepting applications for dispensaries.  Up to 35 will be allowed across the state.
