Boston Bands, Comedians, Take Stage Tonight for “Boston Strong” Benefit

Aerosmith is taking the stage tonight to help their hometown.  The band is among the many acts on board for “Boston Strong: An Evening of Support and Celebration”.  The fundraiser is for the victims of last month’s Boston Marathon bombings.  The event also includes other artists with ties to the area, including the J. Geils Band, Boston, Godsmack, James Taylor, Extreme, and New Kids on the Block.  Comedians Steven Wright and Dane Cook who are both from Cambridge will also perform, along with Jimmy Buffett, Carole King, Jason Aldean and others.  Tickets for “Boston Strong” at TD Garden sold out within minutes, but the event will be shown live on TV on NECN, and will stream live online at Billboard.com at 7:00 p.m.
