(Deerfield, MA) — Deerfield Town Meeting has approved a zoning overlay for medical marijuana dispensaries. The district includes the town’s Industrial Zone near Route 116 and another section south of Elm Street. The Planning Board stipulated that treatment centers can not be located within 500 feet of a school or day-care facility. Under the state’s new medical marijuana law, each county will get at least one but no more than five dispensaries.
