The fate of a 100 year old school building in Easthampton is the subject of much discussion in the city. Mayor Michael Tautznik held a community meeting Monday night to gather ideas for the redevelopment of the Parsons Street Elementary School. The now-vacant building sits on a sizable parcel in a dense residential neighborhood. Tautznik says the best return for the city would be to develop market-rate housing. Many of those in attendance said they’d like to see a creative reuse of the property that serves the community.
