Hadley Fire Victims to receive State Assistance

(Hadley, MA) – The victims of the recent Hadley strip mall fire may be about to get some help from the federal government. Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick has asked the U.S. Small Business Administration for a “declaration of economic injury” which will allow those displaced businesses to qualify for low interest rebuilding loans. A dozen businesses and two apartments were destroyed by the fast-moving fire, which is believed to have started in a machine in a laundromat at the rear of the facility.
