Holyoke Mayor Against Walmart

Holyoke Mayor Alex Morse now says he’s against a Walmart proposed for Whiting Farms Road.  Morse is expected to make a statement at a protest rally on Thursday.  The project may move forward anyway, because the land is owned by Holyoke Gas and Electrick, which has already signed a purchase and sale agreement.  Back in June the mayor said he viewed the development as an opportunity to solve traffic problems and generate tax revenue.
