(Northampton, MA) — A former Amherst man is held on 100-thousand-dollars bail after denying that he drugged and raped a teenage girl 13 years ago. The outstanding warrant against 41-year-old Mario Ayala was discovered when he was busted by border patrol agents last month. In 2000 the girl’s father found her unconscious in Ayala’s apartment at The Boulders, and a medical examination revealed evidence of sexual activity. The fugitive from justice also faces charges for being in the country illegally from El Salvador.
Adam Liccardi is the third of four defendants to be convicted of gang-raping the unidentified woman in her Amherst dorm room back in 2013.
