Lawsuit Names Deceased Northampton Priest as Sex Abuser

A Chesterfield man has filed suit against the Catholic Diocese of Springfield saying he was sexually assaulted by a priest at St. Patrick’s in Chicopee when he was a teenager.  The plaintiff claims he was assaulted by priest Paul Archambault of Northampton more than 50 times over four years.  Archambault committed suicide in 2011 at the Sacred Heart rectory in Springfield.  A large crowd showed up for his funeral in Northampton.
