Layoffs Looming at Vermont Yankee

The company that owns the Vermont Yankee nuclear plant plans to cut its work force.  Vermont state officials say they haven’t been told how many jobs could be lost, but a reporter for the Vermont Digger is quoting leaked internal documents from Entergy, saying there could be a 10% reduction is  workforce, which would mean about 65 layoffs.  Officially Entergy will only say it’s launched a company-wide effort to cut costs, and workforce reductions will be one result.
