Morse, Stanek Win Holyoke Primary

(Holyoke, MA) — First-term incumbent Alex Morse will face off against businessman Jeffrey Stanek in November’s election for Mayor of Holyoke. The two were the top vote-getters in yesterday’s primary. Among low turnout, Morse received 45 percent of the vote to Stanek’s 42. In the primary for city clerk, voters chose City Councilor Brenna McGee and Assistant City Clerk Louise Bisson. Democratic party operative Dori Dean was knocked out of the race for the 72-thousand-dollar-a-year job.
