No Funnel Cloud Confirmed After Tornado Warning

Franklin and Hampshire County first responders were kept busy by a series of heavy Sunday afternoon storms which triggered a Tornado Warning by the National Weather Service. The primary areas affected were southeastern Franklin and northeastern Hampshire counties. A fire caused by a lightning strike was reported in Sunderland and there were reports of wires down in Leverett. Hail was reported in Ware. There was no confirmation of a funnel cloud, but weather spotters reported seeing circular cloud rotation consistent with a twister.
