Northampton High School Will Have Later Start Time

Northampton’s School Committee has put the issue of a later start time for Northampton High School to bed.  The board has voted 7 to 2 to move to a later start time beginning no later than September 2014.  The exact time will be left up to the superintendent to work out, but it will be moved from the current 7:30 to somewhere between 8 and 8:30.  A study panel is recommending an 8:15 start time.  That would work by shortening the school day by ten minutes, and cutting the time between classes by two minutes.
