Northampton Police Union Questions Chiefs Leadership

(Northampton, MA) –¬†Union leaders representing Northampton police officers are questioning the leadership of Police Chief Russell Seinkewicz in the wake of an investigation into Captain Scott Savino and administrative assistant Maryann Keating. The two were placed on paid leave last month while the office of Hampden District Attorney Mark Mastroianni investigates possible wrongdoing related to payroll records. The union sent a letter to Mayor David Narkewicz accusing the chief of taking steps to squash the investigation. Union President Joshua Wallace tells the Gazette, he’s encouraged by a meeting with the mayor and the chief Friday, but the union stands behind the letter.
