(Northampton, MA) — The DCR will close the Norwottuck Rail Trail bridge over the Connecticut River beginning September 23rd. The bridge is having its deck replaced. The former railroad bridge, which now serves bicyclists and pedestrians, will be closed for about six months. Meanwhile, ongoing work to widen the rail trail will come to a halt in November and pick up again in the spring.
