RMV Wants to Close Three Western Mass Branches

The state Registry of Motor Vehicles would like to close three branches in Western Mass.  Under a consolidation plan, offices in Easthampton, Chicopee and North Adams would be shut down.  Branches would be maintained in Greenfield, Pittsfield and Springfield.  The plan is drawing fire from the business community, and local mayors including Mike Tautznik of Easthampton, who calls it a lousy idea.
