A 23-year old Springfield man is dead after being shot by a state cop on I-91 in Chicopee. After midnight Sunday a southbound BMW was pulled over for speeding near exit 8. Police say there was a physical altercation before shots were fired, and the men tried to drive away after being hit. Two loaded handguns with the serial numbers removed were found in the car. A 22 year old female passenger was treated for minor injuries.
