Stop & Shop Battle Back in Court

A controversial plan to build a Stop & Shop in Easthampton is back in court.  Cernak Buick has appealed a Superior Court ruling that dismissed its suit against the supermarket giant.  Stop & Shop wants to build at the site of the Tasty Top ice cream stand on Northampton Road.  Owners of the car dealership across the street sued the city in 2010 saying the Planning Board violated protocol in issuing permits.
