Sunderland Driver Sentenced To Prison

(Sunderland, MA) — A Sunderland woman has been sentenced to 5-to-7 years in prison for her role in a 2012 crash that killed a motorcyclist in Hadley. Brittini Benton was drunk and driving the wrong way on Route 116 when her car hit UMass grad student Daniel Haley. The 25-year-old was convicted of DUI second offense, negligent operation, and motor vehicle homicide. Haley was a Pittsfield resident who transferred to UMass in 2009 from Berkshire Community College.
