(South Deerfield) – Some railway improvements are on the way to South Deerfield. State officials say that plans are underway to install new gates, bells and lights at the Elm and Pleasant Street railroad intersections. The improvements are part of an ongoing effort to restore regular rail service along the I-91 corridor connecting Springfield and Northampton with Greenfield and points north.
