UMass Rioters Face Disciplinary Action

(Amherst, MA) — Fourteen UMass students arrested Wednesday night after the Red Sox victory will be subject to disciplinary action by the Dean’s office. The students have pleaded not guilty to rioting, failure to disperse and other charges. A crowd of about 3,000 had gathered to watch Boston win the World Series in an outdoor event organized by the University. Police in full riot gear cleared the area around Southwest Towers after the game’s conclusion, running into problems with a group of rowdy young men.
