Vega Won’t Run For Senate

Holyoke State Rep Aaron Vega has announced he won’t run for the state Senate seat vacated by Mike Knapik, saying it’s a bit too soon.  The at-large city councilor is a freshman state rep for the 5th Hampden District.  There’s a lot on his plate;  he and his wife run a yoga studio and are expecting their first child in November.  Vega caused a stir when he took out nomination papers for the seat Monday.  Outgoing Easthampton Mayor Mike Tautznik has also taken out papers for the seat as a Democratic candidate.
