Walmart Responds to Protesters

Walmart is responding to protesters who don’t want a super-center built in Holyoke.  The retail giant says it offers jobs with affordable health care and opportunity for advancement.  Mayor Alex Morse recently spoke out against the store proposed for Whiting Farms Road, saying the net benefit would be negative.  It may be too late, because a purchase and sale agreement has been signed on the commercially-zoned parcel owned by Holyoke Gas and Electric.
