(Westfield, MA) — Westfield State University has named an interim president. Vice President of Academic Affairs Elizabeth Preston will stand in for embattled President Evan Dobelle. Dobelle was placed on paid leave early Thursday after the Board of Trustees met behind closed doors for more than ten hours. The trustees have retained a Boston law firm to launch a new investigation into Dobelle’s controversial spending habits.
