The Whately Water District has issued a boil water order after E. Coli was detected in a water sample. The Whately Water Department says the contaminated sample was collected on Friday and chlorination began on Saturday. Until the issue is resolved, the water department says Whately residents should let water boil for at least one minute before using, or use bottled water. The town anticipates resolving the problem within a week.
