WHMP Dakin Heavy Petting Pet of the Week

Toto – Cairn Terrier mix – Neutered Male – 3 years old – My weight: about 7 lbs.

Suggested kids age range: 13 and up

Dogs: ok after meet

Cats: Not recommended

Exercise: High

I’m a “go getter” dog, ready for adventure! I like to play with all sorts of toys and go for long walks to explore and sniff the exciting great outdoors. In fact, my exploring and sniffing may have gotten me lost at some point, which is how I have ultimately ended up as a stray with a local animal control.  My family didn’t come to claim me, so my pals at Dakin were happy to help animal control and make me part of their adoption program.

I love meeting new folks wherever I go and am inquisitive and very social.  I get excited meeting other dogs and sometimes come on a little too strong in my eagerness to play and be friends.  If I were a person I might say, “You like me.  I want you to really like me!” but other dogs don’t always appreciate my gregarious self-introduction.

Yesterday I hung out in one of the offices at Dakin.  I’m a total lap dog when given the chance too.  What’s not to love?!  If you would like to meet me, you will find me in Springfield.  But you’ll have to wait until Thursday.  The staff at Dakin is in a meeting today so both adoption centers are closed.  The good news is Thursday we’re open from noon – 7:30 p.m!
