Yankee Candle has been sold. The consumer company Jarden is buying the South Deerfield based candle company for $1.75 billion. Jarden is best known for brands such as Crock-Pot and Mr. Coffee. Yankee Candle’s President and CEO Harlan Kent says the buyout gives the company the resources and scale to strengthen its existing product development and distribution capabilities. The deal is expected to close in the fourth quarter of this year.
