Tragic actor Robin Williams is to be immortalized in popular video game “World of Warcraft” following an online petition.

The campaign, created on Change.org, urged the makers of the hit fantasy game to create a character based on the “Good Will Hunting” actor.

Williams had spoken frequently in interviews about his love of video games, and even named his daughter Zelda Williams after the “Legend of Zelda” series.

When the petition was brought to the attention of game makers Blizzard, they immediately decided to set about creating the
tribute.

Technical Game Designer Chadd Nervigg tells fans, “We’re taking care of it.”

Campaign organizer Jacob Holgate later updated the petition to reflect its success, writing, “In less than 24 hours we’ve earned 11,000 signatures, a huge amount of traction on many gaming and new outlets, as well as assurance from Blizzard employees that our desire for a Robin Williams tribute and or NPC (Non Playable Character) will be handled with great care.”

Williams passed away in an apparent suicide at his home in California on Monday, at age 63.
