(Amherst, MA) — Amherst College and UMass Amherst are among the colleges being investigated by federal officials for their handling of sex abuse cases. Thursday the US Department of Education released a list of 55 colleges and universities that will face scrutiny. Those on the list were singled out for compliance review or because complaints were filed against them.
