(Holyoke, MA) — The Holyoke School Committee has filed a complaint with the state about the Paolo Freire [[ POW-lo FRAIR-ee ]] charter school. The committee claims that the school’s charter calls for a downtown location, but the school has been leasing space on Lower Westfield Road near the Holyoke Mall. The school’s director claims he looked for an appropriate downtown site couldn’t find one.
