Chinese Student Not Guilty Of Rape at UMass

(Northampton, MA)  —  A former UMass student from China has been found not guilty on all counts in a rape case.  Weiland Wang had been accused of raping a female student in his dorm room in Februrary 2013.  This week he testified that the two had fabricated the rape story to clear her reputation after the woman’s boyfriend in China found out about their relationship. Wang’s lawyer tells the “Gazette” it’s one of the most unusual cases he’s ever tried.
