(Easthampton, MA) - The state fire marshall is investigating the cause of a fire last night in Easthampton. Crews were called to the scene of a house fire at 14 Lux Avenue in Easthampton around 11:45 last night. The house was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived and they fought the fire into the early morning hours. Southampton, Westhampton and Northampton all provided mutual aid. Fire Chief David Mottor says the cause of the fire initially appears to be “unattended cooking.”
Damage to the home is estimated at $150,000.
