(Northampton, MA) — Public defender Thomas Estes has been approved by the Governors Council to be a district court judge in Northampton. Estes is currently in charge of lawyers at the Committee for Public Counsel Services. The William & Mary graduate was nominated by Governor Patrick when Judge Richard Carey was bumped up to the Superior Court in 2010.
