(Amherst, MA) –¬†Tomorrow’s protest at UMass by a radical church group against a gay university basketball player will be met with peaceful resistance. The Westboro Baptist Church plans to protest against Derrick Gordon, a student athlete who came out last week. The Kansas church, known for its rhetoric against homosexuality and its protests of soldier funerals, plans a protest at 12:15 tomorrow. A UMass group with a Facebook page called UMass United plans to gather at the same time to counter the protest.
