(Holyoke, MA)  —  The state legislature has designated volleyball the official recreational and team sport of Massachusetts. That’s great news for Holyoke, where volleyball was invented in 1895. State Rep Aaron Vega is meeting with Governor Patrick today to persuade him to visit the city for the official designation. The Volleyball Hall of Fame is located in Holyoke Heritage State Park.
