(Amherst, MA)  —  The Westboro Baptist Church didn’t convert many people at UMass Wednesday.  Five members of the ultra-conservative group showed up to protest gay UMass basketball player Derrick Gordon.  Meanwhile a rally in support of gay rights and a celebration of acceptance drew more than a thousand.  Those who spoke praised Gordon for coming out as gay in the world of college sports.
