(Chicopee, MA) — Westover Air Reserve Base will lose 300 jobs under new Penatgon budget cuts. The base in Chicopee will be downsized, and lose eight of its C-5 cargo planes to a base in Texas starting in 2015. The cuts announced Monday are part of an effort to slash nearly 500-billion from the nation’s defense budget over the next eight years.
