Northampton Residents Not Happy About Loud Explosions
The loud explosions that rocked the Ryan Road area of Northampton last week still have some residents fuming. The State Police bomb squad was at a gravel pit off Ryan Road last Thursday, detonating explosives found in a vacant Springfield home. Some neighbors of the gravel pit are complaining that their neighborhood was the site chosen to dispose of the materials. Others say they're not happy they weren't told about the explosions in advance, because the loud blasts shook their homes and scared them. Ward six City Councilor Marianne LaBarge is demanding an investigation.
