A former Agawam man is being held without bail on numerous charges including attempted murder, after his arrest early Thursday morning in Hatfield.  46-year old Brian Smith was nabbed by police after an overnight manhunt that included State Police troopers, search dogs and even a helicopter.  Smith pleaded not guilty Thursday in Northampton District Court to a laundry list of charges that also include intimidation of a witness, and resisting arrest.  Police say a woman who had a restraining order against Smith called 911, after she awoke to find him sitting next to her inside her King Street home.  She told police Smith put his hands over her face, and threatened to kill her.
