Following through on a campaign promise, Northampton Mayor David Narkewicz has moved city email to the cloud.  Officials and staffers will keep their email addresses, but instead of being hosted by the city's IT department, the mail will be hosted by Google.  The mayor's move comes on the heels of two major problems with the city's IT department.  Several months ago, a server meltdown resulted in the loss of essential data.  And more recently, the city's email was on the fritz for almost a week.
