Transportation Bill to Benefit Valley Projects

The federal transportation bill signed by President Obama on Friday will benefit seven Pioneer Valley road projects.  Expect to see improvements to Route 187 in Westfield, to Amherst Road in Pelham, and to Route 10 in Bernardston.  The Route 122 bridge in Huntington will be replaced, the Route 291 bridge in Springfield will be fixed, and the span connecting the tiny towns of Rowe and Monroe will be preserved.  Before any of the projects can start though, the Massachusetts legislature will have to pass its own transportation bond bill.
