Katy Perry, Carly Rae Jepsen competing in Summer Jam Games

Katy Perry, Carly Rae Jepsen and her mentor Justin Bieber are among the acts going head-to-head for the song of the summer in an Olympics-inspired music contest.

The inaugural Summer Jam Games will pit chart-toppers including Flo Rida, Maroon 5, Rihanna, No Doubt, Kanye West, Pink and Nicki Minaj against one another in hip-hop, pop and R&B categories.

The winners of the MTV competition, which runs alongside London's Olympic Games, will receive gold medals, while second and third runners-up will take home silver and bronze prizes.

A full list of winners will be announced at a medal ceremony on Aug. 5 - a week before the official closing ceremony caps off the 2012 Olympics in the U.K.
