For the second time, Holyoke's Board of Health has approved a needle exchange program. Yesterday's three to zero vote was needed because a previous vote violated the Open Meeting Law. The health meeting was packed with supporters of the program, including Mayor Alex Morse. Now Council President Kevin Jourdain says he'll seek a court injunction to stop the program. The needle exchange has divided the city, with some saying it saves lives and others complaining it just attracts more drug addicts to the city.
