Western Mass. residents are being advised to guard against Eastern Equine Encephalitis.  The state Health Department has confirmed that a horse in Belchertown died recently from Triple-E, and residents in that town and surrounding communities are being advised to guard against possible mosquito bites until further notice.  That is the main method of transmission for illnesses like Triple-E and West Nile Virus.
