Northampton will have more sports fields in about two years.  Ground was broken Thursday on a new recreation facility in Florence, featuring five new multipurpose playing fields and two new baseball fields, as well as concession stands and a playground.  The land for the fields is part of 176 acres acquired through a public land trust agreement.  1.4 million dollars in Community Preservation Act money helped to kick start this phase of the project.
