Greenfield police are investigating an apparent act of vandalism at a downtown business. Police say someone smashed one of the front windows of the Brass Buckle restaurant at the corner of Main and Chapman Streets. Owner J.D. Hairston posted a picture of the boarded-up window on Facebook, and said he believes the incident was a deliberate attack on his business. Hairston says it's a symptom of what he calls a "heightened crime rate" in the downtown area.
