Northampton's Historical Commission is set to vote on whether the old Shaw's Motel, and the former Green Street Cafe can be demolished. The Shaw's Motel at Bridge Street and Pomeroy Terrace is boarded up, and has been on the market for more than two years. Now a prospective buyer is looking to tear down the hotel and renovate other buildings on the property. Smith College has applied to tear down the former Green Street Cafe building. A hearing on that will be held Monday night. The Historical Commission will decide if the landmarks should be preserved.
